Even Empty hands


Two participants, leader and follower face each other at approximately 6 metres apart.

Pay respects.

Interchanging from right to left stance display empty hands motion while remaining in the same spot for approximately 4 movements. Moving forward continue empty hands motion and engage oponent with hand movements only, locks hands and push and pull with each other. Leader gives signal, then follow arnis's leader to the ground with hands still locked, then leader on the ground arnis's followed in to a roll. Both get up together and face on another continuing empty hands motion.

Opponents advance on each other till in mid range, follower then round kicks leader to right side, leader blocking the kick with arm and hand, kick and block is then repeated for the left side. Opponents advance to close range and engage with hand movements only (approximately 2 movements), then follower throws right hook, leader blocks and pushes followe away to leaders right. Moving towards each other with empty hands motion leader round kicks follower to right side, follower blocking the kick with arm and hand, kick and block is then repeated for the left side.

Opponents engage with hand movements only (approximately 2 movements), then follower throws left hook, leader blocks and pushes follower away to leaders left.

Moving towards each other with empty hands motion opponents engage hands only (approx. 2 movements), follower then throws right hook, Leader side steps, parries and with right hand on followers right lower shoulder section, takes the followers right leg and throws follower in to a left roll. Moving towards each other with empty hands motion opponents engage hands only (approximately 2 movements) follower then throws left hook. Leader side steps, parry's and with left hand on followers left lower shoulder section, takes the followers left leg and throws follower in to a right roll.

Moving towards each other with empty hands motion opponents engage hands only (approx 2 movements), follower then throws right hook. Leader counters with upwards left arm parry and follows through to grasp followers neck by the left side. With his right hand the leader grasps the followers inside left thigh and up-ends to gently spearhead follower to ground.

 

Empty hands against single dagger


Two participants, leader and follower face each other at approximately 6 metres apart with a dagger midway on the ground parallel to them, handle to leaders left.

Pay respects.

Participants move forward to pick up dagger, follower then reaching down first to take the dagger by the handle with his right hand. Leader places his left hand on follower's right hand and pushes his right forearm down on follower's neck. Follower pushes leader away with his left hand on leaders right elbow, leader falls to ground on his back. Follower grabs dagger for rear side strike in right hand and moves in to strike leader. Leader then arnis's the follower into a left roll, both get up.

Follower changes rear side hold to front side hold and moves forward towards leader performing front side strikes in air. Follower at mid range attacks leader with a right kick, leader blocks using left forearm and right open hand. Follower attacks leader with a front side number 1 strike, leader blocks and is pushed away by follower same sequence is performed with number 2 strike from follower. Follower then strikes with a front side number 3 strike, leader disarms follower and strikes follower with a slice to the head, follower skips away.

Showing the dagger motions leader attacks follower with right kick, follower blocks using left forearm and right open hand leader then left kicks follower, follower blocking with right forearm and left open hand. Leader attacks follower with front side number 1 knife strike follower blocks and is pushed away by leader, same sequence is performed with a front side number 2 strike from leader. Leader then strikes the follower with a front side number 3 strike, follower disarms leader and with a rear side hold, strikes leader with a slice to the head, leader skips away.

Showing the dagger motions in the rear side hold follower attacks leader with right kick. Leader blocks using left forearm and right open hand follower then left kicks leader, leader blocking with right forearm and left open hand. Follower attacks leader with a number 1 knife strike, leader blocks and is pushed away by follower, same sequence is performed with a number 2 strike from follower. Follower then strikes leader with a number 3 strike, leader with his right arm parries it to the right and takes hold of follower's right hand. Follower strikes with a left hook over his right arm, leader with his left hand, blocks and takes hold of the followers left hand and following through, locks up followers left arm with the follower's right arm. Leader arnis's follower to ground, substituting right knee for right hand which disarms follower, and with rear side hold stabs follower in the chest.

 

Empty hands against double daggers


Two participants leader and follower stand approximately 6 metres apart with two daggers mid-way between them on the ground point to point from left to right.

Pay respects.

Participants advance to daggers, leader attempts to pick up both daggers. Follower places right foot over the blades of both daggers and head throws the leader, to the followers right onto the ground. The follower then picks up the daggers in a rear side hold. Follower attacks leader while on ground with right rear side strike, leader arnis's follower into a roll. Both get up together and follower changes daggers from a rear side hold to a front side hold.

Follower attacks leader with right kick, leader blocks using left forearm and right open hand, follower then left kicks leader, leader blocking with right forearm and left open hand. Then follower attacks with front side number 2 strike, leader blocks and holds. Leader then arnis's follower to ground, follower arnis's leader into a roll. both get up together and follower changes from a front side hold to a rear side hold.

Follower attacks leader with right kick, leader blocks using his left forearm and right opne hand, follower then kicks leader with a round kick to the left, leader blocks with his right forearm and left open hand. Follower attacks with a rear side number 1 strike, leader blocks and holds, follower strikes with a rear side number 2 strike, leader blocks and holds then disarms follower, follower then leg throws leader into a right roll.

Both get up together and follower picks up the daggers in a rear side hold, follower then strikes leader with a rear side number 1 strike, leader with his arm parries it to the right and takes hold of followers right hand. Follower then strikes with a rear side number 2 strike over his right arm, leader with his left hand, parries to the left and takes hold of the followers left hand and following through, locks up follower's left arm with the followers right arm. Leader arnis's follower to the ground, substituting right knee for right hand, disarms follower's right knife to stab follower in chest with rear knife hold.

 

Even single sticks


Two participants , leader and follower face each other approximately 6 metres apart with two single sticks lying on the ground from left to right at the mid way point between them. Handle of closest stick to each participant's side.

Pay respects.

Both advance to the sticks with the follower attempting to pick up both sticks first, the leader then takes the following in a strangle hold. Follower grabs the leader's fingers and wrist and throw leader on to his back. The follower picks up both sticks and while leader is still on the ground strikes leader with a right strike. Leader disarms by arnising stick, and then arnising follower into a roll, leader picks up disarmed stick and both get up together.

Both participants advance on one another showing single stick motions, follower attacks leader with right kick, leader blocks and avanicos followers right leg, follower attacks leader with left kick, leader blocks and avanico's followers left lef, participants engage in short range fighting and on leaders signal leader pushes follower away.

Showing single stick motions, leader attacks follower with right kick, follower blocks with de llave style on leaders right leg, leader attacks follower with left kick, follower blocks with de llave style on leaders left leg. Participants engage in short range sparring and on leaders signal leader pushes away follower.

Showing single stick motions follower attacks leader with right kick, leader blocks and avanico's followers leg, follower attacks leader with left kick, leader blocks and avanicos followers left leg. Participants again engage in short range sparring. On leaders signal follower strikes with a right number one strike, leader changes his stick to left hand, ducks, parries and takes a hold with his right hand the followers striking hand. The leader follows through striking the handle end of his stick around the back of the follower's neck, dragging the follower to the ground in a single movement.

 

Even Double sticks


Two participants, leader and follower face each other approximately 6 metres apart with double sticks in hand.

Pay respects.

Show art of double sticks warm up and continuing motions participants move towards one another, on meeting leader cross blocks and follower blocks with the same and then both participants precede into speed clatter. On leaders signal leader pushes follower away. Momentarily participants show the double stick motions and then follower attacks with a right kick, leader cross blocks and avanicos followers right leg, follower attacks leader with a left kick, leader blocks and avanicos followers left leg.

Continuing the double stick motions they move towards one another, on meeting both participants proceed into speed clatter. On leaders signal, leader pushes follower away. The leader then attacks with right kick, follower cross blocks only, the leader then right kicks, follower cross blocking only and then they continue speed clatter. On leaders signal, leader disarms follower with speed clatter ending.

 

Double sticks against long stick


Two participants leader and followe face each other approximately 6 metres apart with a long stick and two single sticks lying from left to right at the mid way point on the ground between them. Handles of closest stick to each participants right side. (one single stick each side of the long stick)

Pay respects.

Participants move towards sticks, follower attempts to pick up long stick first, leader holds follower down by placing his right foot on followers left shoulder, follower grabs leaders right foot and throws leader to ground. Follower picks up the long stick and holding one end only moves to attack leader with a right number 1 strike. Leader arm blocks and arnis's follower into a roll. Participants get up, leader quickly picks up double sticks and both show motions of long and double sticks.

Follower attacks leader with a number 1 strike, leader cross blocks and avanicos followers long stick, follower then pushes away leader. Follower attacks leader with a number 2 strike, leader cross blocks and avanicos followers long stick, following pushes leader away. Follower attacks leader with a number 3 strike, leader cross blocks and avanicos followers long stick, leader then pushes follower away.

Momentarily participants show motions of each stick then leader attacks with a right number 1 strike, follower disarms leader with a number 2 strike. Leader attacks with a number 2 strike, follower disarms with a number 1 strike. Leader stands back while follower shows motions of long stick.

Follower then attacks and strikes with a number 1 strike, leader blocks using left forearm and right open hand. Follower then strikes with a number 2 strikes, leader blocks with right forearm and left open hand. On followers number 3 strike the leader moves into close quarters, ducks, and with his left hand parries upwards to the left and holds followers right hand and long stick. Following through the leader positions his right arm over the long stick and between the followers right arm and body grasping the back of the followers upper arm and right shoulder. Continuing the movement the leader takes down the follower to the ground with the long stick.

 

Even long sticks


Two participants, leader and follower stand facing each other about 6 metres apart each with a long stick.

Pay respects.

Showing the art form of the long sticks (spinning on both sides and under legs,etc.) the participants move towards each other, on meeting the leader centre blocks vertically and the follower centre blocks horizontally. The follower right sweeps the leader, the leader ducks , drops his long stick and leg throws the follower into a roll. The follower retains his long stick and the leader picks up his long stick.

Showing the art form of the long sticks the participants move towards each other, at close range the follower strikes with a 1, a 2, and a 3 strike, leader defending with the same strikes. At the third strike, leader pushes away the follower. Showing the art form of the long sticks the participants move toward each other, at close range the leader strikes with a 1, a 2 and a 3 strike, follower defending with the same strikes. At the third strike, the leader pushes away the follower.

Showing art form of the long sticks again, the participants then advance on each other. Follower strikes 1,2,3 with the leader defending strikes 1 and 2 with opposing strikes, but on strike 3 attacks. The leader attacks by stepping forward and thrusting the right end of his long stick between the follower's right side and arm above the follower's long stick. The leader with his left hand parries upwards and takes hold of the follower's right hand and long stick. Assisted by the follower's striking motion the leader takes the follower down with the long sticks to the right.
